Simultaneous or Consecutive Interpretation
An interpreter is a professional who acts as a mediator, facilitating the verbal communication between individuals who don’t speak the same language, making it possible for them to understand each other (contrary to a “translation” which is done in writing).
A. Simultaneous Interpretation
The message is transmitted while delivered by the speaker.
B. Consecutive Interpretation
The interpreter is delivering the message while the speaker makes a pause to allow for the communication in the target language.
